Neurodevelopmental Training (NDT) is a brain based approach to child development. NDT enhances brain organization, improves brain function and expressively addresses the root of the problem rather than treating the symptoms of a "labeled" diagnosis. The brain is the "controller", the captain, of the human organism. If brain function is compromised, expected learnings and behaviors will be compromised as well. NDT is based on the recognition and acceptance of these five principles:
* Brain plasticity
* Redundancy of the central nervous system (CNS)
* The branching effect of the CNS which can be produced through specific stimulation
* Function as a mirror from which the level of development may be evaluated
* The orderly sequence of development of the CNS
